Our Story

We are a husband and wife team, who grew up in a rich culture of cooking. While traveling the world with the United States Marine Corps, we soon discovered that each city, state, and foreign country that we lived in had their own unique way of cooking seafood, that differed from our customs. Anthony Proctor aka “Crab Poohbah” spent several years perfecting his craft while catering small and large events for friends and family on the weekends, holidays, or special events.

For several years people were urging Crab Poohbah to share his delicious seafood with the world by taking his passion to the next level. Crab Poohbah, knew the reality of the situation was that he had not been in the restaurant industry for nearly 30 years. In order, to go to the next level, it would require a bold leap of faith. Through fervent prayer and fasting, God led him to read a book by Steve Harvey entitled Jump: Take the Leap Of Faith to Achieve Your Life of Abundance. Two years prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lord spoke a word to Crab Poohbah to purchase a food trailer. Honestly, there was a disobedient hesitation on his part, due to a much anticipated promotion in the government system that he was promised and been awaiting. God had to close that door, in order for him to step out and take the leap of faith.

A bold leap of faith is exactly what Crab Poohbah did when he opened The Spot Florida Style Seafood food truck!

It is nice to wake up every morning and be able to do what you have a passion for. My greatest joy is knowing that Good Food really can change a person mood. It makes me happy to see the smile on our diner’s faces as this food changes their mood. I am truly blessed to be in position to meet new people and make friends over seafood.
